Drop Biscuits and Gravy
- BISCUITS
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon butter or margarine, melted
- GRAVY:
- bacon grease
- little under 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
- about 1/8 lb chorizo
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cups milk
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, cook the sausage and chorizo over medium heat in the bacon grease until no longer pink. Stir in butter until melted. Sprinkle with flour. Gradually stir in cream, milk, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Serve over biscuits.
